Sometimes things click. Sometimes they don’t.
I just finished up my HTML/CSS portion of the Online Developer Program. As a former Project Manager, it was eye-opening to see it from the development side. Since helping out with some QA in the last couple years, I’ve been interested in how you can get your site to render well across various browsers. So, I’ve collected some tips. These tips were compiled from my learnings in the Online Developer Program and various Google searches. Hopefully, I am not sharing outdated information (if so, tweet me).
I recently finished a book called Mindset by Carol Dweck. Coincidentally, it is one of the recommended books on the Online Developer Program syllabus. I can see why.
After 10 weeks of maternity leave, I decided to quit my job as a Project Manager at a marketing agency. I enjoyed what I did, but I knew I had a hard time leaving work at a reasonable time, especially when we were busy (which was 85% of the time). I loved being home with my daughter and seeing all her ‘firsts.’ But, as anyone who has been home with a baby for an extended period can tell you, I was feeling lonely, but never alone; busy, but unaccomplished. I missed my colleagues, problem solving, and feeling like I was contributing. I started taking some Lynda.com courses on development. I completed a couple, but dropped off as the holidays started taking my attention.
